Welcome
Welcome to the website of Dr. Don Kistler. Dr. Kistler is a Bible teacher and author. If there is a theme to this website, it is “Doctrine Matters.” As the Puritans would often say, “Theology is the art of living well to God.” Proper theology should culminate in proper conduct and practice, or, “Orthodoxy leads to orthopraxy.” We will not live any better than our theology; we may not live as well as our theology, but we will never live any better.
Here we hope you will find teaching that will influence and guide your decisions, choices, and behavior. Since theology is about God, it is imminently practical by its very nature. The more we know God, the more we will seek to imitate Him and the more we will please Him.

A DIALOGUE BETWEEN A CATHOLIC PRIEST AND A PROTESTANT
by Matthew Poole
RETAIL PRICE: $16.00

Matthew Poole is a highly-regarded Puritan scholar and preacher. This work of his has been out of print for nearly 200 years. It is a dialogue between a Roman Catholic priest and a Protestant, old friends who meet after many years and decide to discuss the differences between their various religions. Poole uses official Roman documents for the arguments of that faith, and the Protestant appeals to Scripture and logic in answering back. There are many polemical books one can buy that present each side’s case, but I’ve never seen or read one where it is an actual back-and-forth, where both sides are presented. It is like watching a debate. And Matthew Poole says in his introduction to the book that he has not set up the priest as a straw man with weak arguments, but has actually taken the Catholic position from official Romanist documents that have that Church’s imprimatur. Some of the topics covered include transubstantiation, the authority of the church, praying to saints, justification by faith alone, the role of Mary, and many other key issues. CHURCH DISCIPLINE
by Don Kistler
RETAIL PRICE: $48
OUR PRICE: $35.00 + Shipping

Since the time of the Reformation, a true church has been defined by 3 marks: the preaching of the Word, the administration of the Sacraments, and the right use of church discipline. In our day, sadly, church discipline has been woefully neglected, and there is little taught on the matter. These 6 messages give a biblical look at a much-neglected issue. Order Now! |
